p.1 #2 · Anybody knows where to buy the Contax NAM-1 adapter?
I am looking for a MAM-1 (Hasselblad to Contax 645), a similar adapter, and it is also impossible to find. I was contacted on another forum (by a guy from Korea who has never posted...) to buy one, and his price was (I think) 250 or 300 Euro! I saw one on the Japanese website of some photostore, and they wanted 280 Euro. These things are really pricy, in addition to being impossible to find. I will wait, I think.
Which lens do you want to adapt? I would have thought that the actual N lenses would be cheaper and smaller.

I have an aftermarket MAM-1 and it doesn't reach infinity. If I cannot find the real MAM-1 for less than €200, I will buy the Novoflex.
The NAM-1 that the OP is looking for might be even more expensive, given that I presume the electronic connection stays intact. The MAM-1 is just a dumb piece of metal.

Thank you for your information.
carstenw: I am thinking about the 35/3.5, 80/2 and 120 macro/140. No, not all of them, unless I win the lottery. Just to get a taste of the medium format lens.
Lotusm50: what is the after market adapter? The copycat version of NAM-1? Are they exactly the same, just not made by Contax?
[sorry, after the initial excitement, I have read your post more carefully. No I am not looking for MAM, but NAM. Want to use the 645AF lens: I am terrible in terms of manual focusing.]

Funny, those are the three exact lenses I own for my Contax 645
All 3 are great lenses, the 35 and 120 are spectacular, but the 35 is huge and heavy, and in the end, you will have... a 35mm lens. I think you are much better off getting a Contax 35mm f/2.8 Distagon or something, if they can be adapted to the N. The 120 makes a little more sense, perhaps, but it still is a large, heavy, expensive way to go. The 35/3.5 is the MF version of the Contax 21/2.8 Distagon, I believe, and on MF it is perhaps the best 35mm on the market. Both the Hasselblad and Mamiya versions are a little on the soft side. On 35mm, it is barely wide-angle, and very slow for its size and price.

so, which lottery did you buy?
I have a converted N 24-85 and a N 50/1.4. For the wide angle, C/Y 28/2.8 is the widest I have. That is why the MF 35 (21 for 35mm) sounds good to me. Also, I assume all the "better IQ" is because we are now talking about the central part of the image circle from the MF lens, the next reasonable assumption will be: minimal dark corner and disortation. Sounds perfect to me.
Though at the current price, it is still a dream to me. Doesn't hurt to get the NAM-1 first.

Keep in mind that a 35mm lens is always a 35mm lens, no matter which camera you put it on. The difference between a Contax N 35mm lens and a Contax 645 35mm lens is coverage, i.e. The diameter of the projected image, not focal length. This lens only acts like a 21mm lens on medium format.

There are a number of nam-1 adapters going from german Ebayers at the moment at around 300 Euro
could please post a link? or just the eBay# is fine (if the forum does not allow to post direct links). I could find none using "NAM-1" as keyword. Thanks.

A MAM-1 just went for $370 on ebay.com. This adapter has no electronics. I guess the NAM-1 will be out of reach.
My thoughts are: well, the NAM-1 is designed for using 645AF lens on N cameras. Given currently there are not many N users any more, the NAM-1s must be sitting on the shelves somewhere. I just don't know where are those shelves.

I don't know what the equivalent 35mm and 120mm macro lenses for the N go for, but both of these regularly pull in at least €1000 for the 645 versions.
