With all the recent & excellent bobcat postings, I have been in fantasy mode shooting bobcats. There are no real bobcats here on Prince of Wales Island but I did manage a domestic .His mama was manx, his daddy was lynx. His name is Rufus. They say practice makes purrfect! http://northland.smugmug.com/Other/2010/023-c/719817858_uUCUm-L.jpg
Take care everyone. Bob
Lil, Lar & Barry thanks a lot guys. I expected to get blasted for posting a domesticat here though zoo animals seem to be accepted as wildlife. There is no PS used on the tail. He has none at all, not even the last vertibra from which to begin a tail.
Barry it`s all your fault. Your posts have had me drooling recently. To me bobcats and coyotes are highly valued subjects. Its their nature that intrigues me. They seem to make the most of the smallest opportunity. Thanks for looking & commenting. Take care. Bob
Very interesting family history for Rufus, Bob.
Given this history how does Rufus differ in character from the ordinary domestic cat?
Nice shot too!
Martin
Martin, Rufus is a preditor twenty four/seven. He lives for the hunt, be it birds or small rodents. When indoors he is actually much more affectionate than normal cats but he does tend to stay outside a lot. He has free access to come & go as he pleases so he`s happy.
