Yeah, I was planning to organize something, but I've never been to Vegas, so if someone could volunteer to take the lead on reserving a place and getting commitments that'd be great.
if we're aiming for daytime - the buffet at the MGM is smart. getting to and from the area where the conference is held is enough of a hike.
if we're looking at a night time bash, caramel bar at the bellagio was a fantastic spot for another gtg i was involved in last year at wppi. beyond, that i'm a vegas virgin.
here's my take on vegas .. i've been going to vegas since 2002 and here what my opinions is from 2008
RIO has the best seafood (unlimited alaskan crab legs and others) buffet around vegas
Wynn has the best deserts
Bellagio has the best overall for anyone's tastes
Ceaser's forum has the best shops
Strattosphere has the best rides and one of the cheapest gambling in vegas (but really far on the other end)
best quick and cheap eats ... DENNYS !!!!
if everyone is staying at the MGM, its kinda on one end of the strip and can be a walk to other end (The Wynn)
Hey Y'all, I have a friend who's an MD, getting married soon in vegas. has the hook ups in vegas to any club. i was gonna do a shoot w/ him when i'm there. how about we just use them as subjects and do a shoot? Who would be down if I could get an off the hook location w/ my buddy and his g/f? he's a buff S. Asian dude w/ a hot caucasian fiance.
If we get enough interest I can ask him. I'm only gonna be in vegas for 8-10.

I'm down for a shoot out... Red Rock canyon (20 minutes east of the strip) is a spectacular location especially during March... and there are tons of spots to shoot.

Matt, RIO is off the strip... definitely not walking distance. Unless you really really really love walking.
Actually depending on where you're staying it's very doable. I've walked there from the Flamingo multiple times (to go eat at their Indian restaurant) and it's not too bad at all.
