Tony, Sam and Jason were saying they were going last night... My wife and I are not (damn 9-5 jobs) and I'm so jealous... maybe things will be different next year.
I'm with them, so wherever they go, I'm likely to follow...

I've never been to WPPI. Is it really all that worthwhile? What are your main objectives in attending, for those that go?
I just went to Imaging USA for the first time and I was pretty impressed how the whole thing went, though honestly I'm not sure I expected there to be 10k attendees or whatever it was...and I've heard WPPI is even more crowded.
This will be the first time I'm attending WPPI as well, but my interests are pretty similar to Tony's:
- Meet some photogs in person, mainly FMers.
- Platform classes (even if only 2-3 are as good as some of the IUSA classes, I'll be happy)
- Gamble a little & have fun in Vegas w/ my wife
- Fly home with a little more inspiration and new ideas for my future weddings
See here's why I'm having trouble deciding if it's something I'd like to attend... I hate Vegas. Can't stand it. Food isn't bad and there's some good shows, but gambling and drinking and smoking and strippers aren't really my thing.
I'm also not sure how much learning would be done in the classes - many of us FM'ers are pretty advanced in terms of lighting etc. so I guess I'd mainly be interested in business and logistical advice, workflow to be more efficient, upcoming trends maybe...
Meeting some of you guys would be cool, but I don't know if I can handle 3WM. And I'd be so pissed if I woke up on the roof of a casino.
My goals are to:
1. Have some fun with fellow photog peeps,
2. Stay FREE due to my wife's work conference happening at the same time down the strip, by freak chance.
3. Learn tons at the classes and get to play with all the toys at the trade show.
4. Shoot a machine gun in the desert. True story.
mine and Spencer's plans are hazy at best right now unless he's gone and booked tickets and I don't know about it...
right now I'm likely for the 8th, 9, 10 and maybe the 11th.
I've got a local friend with a pad to crash in... about 20 mins from the MGM - bonus is you've met both Spencer and I - and we don't bite ! that you know of...
not sure if it's been mentioned, but we were bumped last year from the original location that sam had booked and were moved over to the buffet. so we should probably quit diddling and make some solid plans
i'd offer to lead things, but with our recent family issues, my wppi status is still up in the air. if we finalize plans, i'd be happy to take charge and get this thing on the books somewhere.
Yeah, I was planning to organize something, but I've never been to Vegas, so if someone could volunteer to take the lead on reserving a place and getting commitments that'd be great.
