Noticed this small variable 10-spot ladybird seemed to be rather oval in shape. Wasn't until I got the lens on it i realised why !

Missing half it's carapace and wing - not certain if this is the result of a birth accident or an attack. It seemed to be moving around normally though.

love the light and that bluish-grey bg is a perfect contrast to the subject
