p.1 #1 · Lots of thread sizes, but one polarizer...
Hi all,
I want to start playing with a circular polarizer in my landscape and city photos, but I have a few snags.
Snag 1: Finding the best polarizer money can buy at or around 100 dollars: It seems all the best ones are much higher than this, and it sucks to buy something you know isn't good...
Snag 2: Which lens to get one for, since the two lenses I use the most (Tokina 12-24 and Canon 70-200 F4IS) have different threads.
Any help / suggestions you can offer would be much appreciated!

Get a 77mm thread Circular Polarizer and a 67-77mm thread step up ring. You can then use the polarizer as is on the Tokina and with the step up ring on your 70-200 f4IS. Here is a link to a very good polarizer that you can buy on-line for $90 plus shipping. I hope this helps.

At least read THIS before you actually buy a polarizer. I try to give this link every time someone brings up "what filter do I buy?" Some filters are a waste of money, some really do impact image quality, and some are a GREAT value. Just pay attention to how the filters are labeled, since all the manufacturers add all sorts of qualifiers like "PRO" "HD" "SUPER AWESOME BESTEST" etc...
