Barren and desolate. Yet hope in new life. Beautiful

The IR treatment makes the shot. I like how the new growth and the clouds have the same tone. It makes them seem connected.

A necessary part of the cycle, I suppose, although I don't know about the circumstances of this particular fire.
Very nice comp.

The sky is stunning. Like the others said, IR really makes this shot.

Thanks Tim. When I got out of the car to take this shot I thought something was burning under the car, but it was the bush, although the fires had been at least 6 months prior.

Wouldn't it be nice if IR was a mode we could turn on/off in our DSLRs? This is a terrific image. I can get close to this with Channel mixer, but the effect here is really over the edge. Very strong effect, and somehow the IR goes well with the post-fire concept.

Thanks eNoBlog. That would be nice but I feel a camera like that would probably be dearer than converting an old one to IR.
