p.1 #1 · Marketing Print Sales

Hi everyone,

To run alongside standard stock agency submissions, I've decided to branch out to selling prints/canvases etc. directly. I've set up the gallery and e-commerce here: http://photo.alexhibbert.com/fineart

Obviously this is no use unless anyone knows it's there to buy them! I also know that the percentage of browsers who actually buy will be low - the nature of the beast.....so obviously I need to drive traffic there. Would experiences/strategies have you found has worked for travel/wildlife images?

1. SEO working hard on that but is fairly passive.
2. Online advertising with Facebook (up to 30p per click). have tried Googleads and got confused!
3. General online presence.

Any other ideas/tips?

Thanks

Alex.

such sales are unrealistic unless you have something really unique, really unique quality or many contacts. save your time trying to market it on internet and make effort to connect to architects, designers and galleries. those are people buying "existing" prints.

For us, 10% of non-human prints (as landscapes, etc) coming from existing customers (who prefer one shop solution), 70% from architects and designers in charge of office / apartment design and about 10% from permanent or long term galleries.

as for SEO, your gallery doesnt work without javascript and is off sourced. that is not good
