Thank you, Helen, it will be interesting to see what corrective action that group will implement, as manifested on the listing of the subject lens as well as elsewhere.

What if yet another typo crept into the lens description so that what they realy meant to say was " No internal dust, haze, fungus and condensation" ?
How do we find that out ? Well, from the horse's mouth, I guess.
If so, that lens might be put back in service for an estimated $1,000 (new hood+ AF repair).......that would bring the total lens cost to $3,500, assuming you are the only bidder. Now, where else can you buy a complete, functional, and not too ugly looking 500 f/4 for $3,500 ?
