LMAO.
Maybe you can get a Cormie HG series
You still have time to change your plan Conrad. I saw a Gold Eagle nearby my area yesterday. He was flying too high up and the weather SUX as you knew so no shots for me.

No way man! I'm going to meet the SoCal gang if I have to WALK there!
Hey Danno put a rush order on that 500mm man! Get that eagle!
Stunning set Conrad I can't believe I missed this thread earlier. Conrad to be honest with you looks like you have much more exciting wildlife opportunities where you are up north than what we have here, but on the positive side we'll meet up with our northern FMers.

Garen
We may have more wildlife up here but they are almost always FAR off Looks like one can get much closer to them down there Plus I've never seen a wood duck or skimmer or reddish egret. And I'm sure it will be good fun shooting with you guys!
Okay so I guess your going down there for the learning/social aspect because I think if anything your images prove that the Bay Area is a hotspot for bird photography and there is no need to go to BC!!! Btw great job!

Thanks man but I think despite the variety up here we can't beat the proximity the SoCal gang gets to the burdies! they are fearless there
Oh yah .... the burdies here are people-friendly, and that's why I can shoot these images with a 100L! Heck, Fearless Snowy Egret was challenging me to get even closer than 15 feet - scroll down the page to see him strike up the different poses for me.

Conrad - bring 2 bodies and your 400/5.6 (on a tripod) and 70-200L for hand-held shooting. We will have lots of EOS fun! Hope Joshua will turn up too.
