This is an odd question but I am looking for everyone's opinion. I have a recent bride who booked us for their wedding for next year who is requesting a very traditional in studio bridal portrait to be taken in advance of the wedding.
My question is what advice does anyone have for a classic backdrop and what do you typically do for flowers? I have a few things in mind but am looking for suggestions. I have never had anyone request this as we normally take our bridal portraits on location typically outdoors the day of the event.
Any advice from those who have done this befor for clients?
Search "bridal" here - CarminaF posted a really nice studio bridal. It wasn't traditional, but the poses and lighting were inspiring. Then look for Evan Baines - he has lots of traditional-ish studio bridals there.
I think CarminaF's backdrop was some kind of print cloth, Evan tends to use a white backdrop - I believe a white cyc wall - you could use white seamless.
sure stick with white (if you do light right like Evan) or gray. It is elegant, and you can easily use it for album too. IF you want to be creative, experiment after shoot if you both will have time.
In my area all Bridals are done several months before the wedding. For studio shots I usually go with a white background that lit enough to look light gray in the photo or black lit up so it has some light and dark areas. Some standing and some in a nice chair. Another real traditional look would be standing near
a large column on a old style porch.
I do Bridals for probably about 50% of my brides. We usually do them about two weeks before the wedding. Usually they are in the studio, but every once in a while I will get a gutsy bride who is willing to do some location or outside shots. For the studio I usually go with a white backdrop, but I will use what's available. Full length is a must, but we try to get all angles. Here is one I posted on my facebook page:
