Yeah, lots on DWF....some in the sports forum here too.

Thx for the kind words. Its fun to be able to do an outdoor event like this and have the weather actually cooperate. The day before we never even took the IR body out for the whole wedding...

#7 is very nice.

Does the date/time on the image help with something like proof ordering or album selection?

Date and Time is just something I stuck in there originally, but it has come in handy on several occasions. The brides tell me they like it cause it reminds them of the time on their big day. It doesnt take any longer for me to include any exif info I wish using that script as part of a ps action so i leave it on there. It does come in handy when the MOB tries to say you were late...and you have photos timestamped to shut her up.....even had a DJ call me up trying to get overtime money from the bride wanting me to back up his (false) claim....when I told him all the brides shots were timestamped...he quickly recanted his story...what a douchebag!

Lots of my wedding photo students end up using this same script and opting for various exif data to be input. You can also use it to add a studio logo or watermark all at the same time....its a real timesaver.

I'm not sure if I'm digging the IR. They're certainly not bad images, but I'm just not convinced the IR look would be better than the same shot in color.

The ones shot in harsh midday sun certainly seem to have benefited from it. They seem a lot softer and unique. The ceremony ones is what I'm mainly referring to.

Its not like we didnt cover the event using traditional means as well

FWIW...the IR shots are a huge hit, especially when we do a little slideshow of images during the reception. People simply havent seen images like that before. Its not the way you'd shoot an entire wedding, but having them, certainly sets you apart. If you really want to see the color images, just go to my blog.......then decide for yourself if having them added to the coverage or not. Thats the real question. Not is one better than the other, but are the clients better off having a few mixed in....

Again, I get this sort of question all the time when I'm teaching wedding photography. Many just think IR and say why bother. The "why bother" is simple. Because when done correctly it can yield some outstanding results other photogs simply cant match. What you do with that is entirely up to you.....but it "can" add a bunch of gigs you might not otherwise have won if the brides see you in another "light" so to speak.
