very nice, I really like the effect on the Lions and for me, the Monkey shot is as they say, a "Wallhanger" just really stunning the look on the closest one and then the "Hey, what you doing" in the background, again, Wow

Great shots Joe... Really like the effects on the 2 lion portrait shots..Do you recall what those last guys (pic 3) are called?? They have some very human expressions, don't they? Once again, very nice shots... Its a great zoo isn't it..? I've always gone in dead of summer, but went last week and the animals definitly seemed more active then they do on them hot days.
The Flash technique is pretty simple and I learned it by reading Hot shot diaries by Joe McNalley.
I underexposed and used an SB-800 and set the flash and camera to high speed sync (FP Mode). I maxed out the flash at +3 on the flash compensation. I also used a diffuser.
