p.1 #1 · How to attach Domke strap

I bought a Domke neck strap for my 40D - like it a lot, but I'm trying to figure out the best way to attach it. Right now I'm not using the split rings or leather thingys that come with it, just put the 3/8" webbing right through the slots on the camera. Does anyone use the split rings and leather doo-dads somehow?

A picture of the attachment would be great - thanks!

I've thrown out the split rings and the leather thingys. I think their point is to allow the camera to hang lens downwards without twisting the strap. But the benefit is miniscule and the rings scratch.

I've only been worried about the webbing being kinda sawn through by the metal eyelets, but my old Domke strap survived for five years already without any problems.

split rings are for cameras that have different strap attachment, like Nikon D3 etc. Leather thingies are there to protect these cameras from the rings rubbing against them.

That's kinda what I thought - thanks! I'll leave as-is.

p.1 #5 · How to attach Domke strap

I've got two domke straps. I've had one for 6 years now that's gone through several bodies and I just keep moving it from each one. I also recently bought a new one for my 40D as well. I have noticed on my older one it is only slightly frayed by the metal eyelets. I was concerned initially, but it doesn't appear to actually be doing any damage. they're pretty great, very comfortable and no slip!
