I like the person in the lower left, gives it a human element and a sense of scale.
Couple of technical notes:
1)There's a lot of noise in the sky, perhaps from using a simulated red filter in post.
2)Perhaps some local contrast enhancement will bring out some more details in the rock.

I still have some learnin' to do. I'm suffering lightroom export problems!
1) The intentional grain (added) did not downsample well
2) Highlight and mid-tone contrast is poor as you note. Interesting because it looks (to my eye) just right in 17-22 prints and on my monitor in the native size.
I'll try the downsample in pure Photoshop which was my old method and seemed to work much better.
