p.1 #1 · Waterproof case for T1i

Hi I'm in school as a photography major and am looking for a budget waterproof case that will get the job done as I don't have a couple thousand dollars lying around for a housing just yet.

At this point in time I'm not going to be doing any underwater shots, I just need something to block out rain and show.

I've been looking around to see what I could find and the DiCAPac WP-S10 seems to fit what I need the best. Since I have no real experience in this matter I thought I'd ask the people here what they think. I appreciate any help in this matter.

Cheers!

If all you want to do is protect your camera from rain and snow, you might want to just wrap the camera up using a large zip lock bag, with a hole cut out so you can put the lens through, just like this:

I've used large golf umbrellas when shooting in the rain. If your budget is tight and there isn't too much wind, . . .

I like the idea of the Zip Lock bag. I might try that out next weekend actually. THanks for the ideas.

you can get dedicated rain jackets that dont cover the front element.
something like this

I think the issue with the underwater cases like the one you show work better when underwater so the lens protector is covered in water. Also they limit you to the size of lens that fit in.
The Zip lock bag works well but can be a bit of a pain in use.
