They have an interesting aesthetic to them. I really like the left version of the second picture, but it doesn't really look like a maternity shot, just cool b/w.
What do you think?
On another note, how was the 45 minute car ride without radio control?
word. i wasnt really trying to make typical maternity shots. glad you find the aesthetic interesting. i wanted to raise a few eyebrows, invoke some feeling/thought, push the boundaries, and do something different. they are all earnest in their own right i think and thats about all i can guarantee of my photographs.
I thought you'd come up with something like this. I like the series a lot Serg. There's a hint of melancholy in the set, which I like, was that deliberate? Either way, it works for me. Good job.

Typical maternity shots, done well, can also raise eyebrows, invoke emotions, etc. Different for the sake of being different it lame. Good photography always lasts.
Yo dude. I have a few of these sessions coming up myself. Interesting to see your take on it. I think the mood fits, particularly with a young couple. It feels like a very real look into what their lives are and will be.
Agree with the mood is very appropriate. The series takes me to a journey, and gives me an intimate feel for the subject/s. Additionally, they are more varied individually and weaved to the theme, which kept me involved throughout the set.

ty but i disagree, and you also disregarded that i was trying to push some boundaries. i was unimpressed with a lot of the recommendations i received for maternity photography, so i think my criteria for well executed photography is different than most. i dont know the quote word for word, but it goes something like "there is no particular virtue in doing things the way they have always been done" . it goes both ways, but you can decide for yourself which one is more fun

I like them, except for the last one. The sagging pants say to me, "I'm a teenage punk who is not ready to be a father".
I find it countered by his serene expression. Fashion taste does not equal maturity.
Serg, I say this 100% genuinely, but this is your absolute best stuff. Second to last shot is my absolute favourite photo I've seen from you, and should make you a lot of money to come in referrals. Congrats, the first one is rarely easy.
