p.1 #1 · Eye One Display 2

... seems not to be working properly. I calibrated a monitor on two different computers and the color is far too blue. At least 1000K or more below the normal setting is needed to look decent. I pulled out an old Spyder series 2 monitor calibrator and it produces more reasonable results. I ran the i1 hardware test, but it did not indicate any defects. Has anyone experienced similar shifts over the years on a i1 Display 2 sensor? Any ideas?

Thanks,
EBH

I had the same problem with my original Spyder - had to set a custom at 7200K....

I now have the X-Rite Pulse Color Elite and it is pretty much dead on.

What do you mean by "normal?" I consider 6500 to be too blue so I use 5500. That's the way it's supposed to work. You pick the one you like.

Normally I use 5000-5200, but now it takes around 4300 to look OK.

It is very subjective - the point is to use a temp that looks dead on to you and then notate the temp settings for repetitive calibration. Have your profiles designed around this calibration temp.

I have a spyder 2, I did my LCD and my CRT, both monitors look atrocious. Time to toss this spyder in the garbage.

Same thing here. 6500k is a bit blue to me. The lighting is very important here. I got 6500k energy saving light bulbs, but the paint in the room is warm, so I guess WB will drop to around 5500k~6000k. After all, I prefer 5500K for my condition.

Where do you get that one? I don't see it on B&H.
