p.1 #1 · Paula

I worked with Paula last Friday. I haven't shot with her in over a year. She mainly works as an actress and also does a lot of costume work.

Hope you like them.

The color looks a little green on my monitor. Intentional?

The skin is too soft for my taste. Like #2 the best.

+1 to the green hue.

Overall, I am not big on the posing.

In #1, she looks like I feel when I wake up after sleeping on my arm and it is totally numb and hangs there like it is dead or something. Not meaning to be harsh, I guess I should just say not a flattering pose in my opinion.

#2 looks like a big harsh blast from on-cam flash. The b/w is not enough to cover it.

#3 a little too much 'between the legs'.

#4 and 6 seem to be the best of the set to me.

MOst of them appear to be very heavily processed on her skin - to a degree that I think it is not realistic (aka, plastic looking). A matter of taste, but to me, not working.

Thanks for the comments and critiques.

I didn't even notice that fact that ESC points out for Photo 1. Wow. It is amazing what another set of eyes see that someone else (me) doesn't. Thanks so much for pointing that out.

They probably are a little too processed on the skin, I need to tone it down somewhat, but she does have pretty flawless skin and has worked most of her life in the theatre department so she does a good job on her make-up when
I shoot with her.

as usual she is very pretty but the color balance is off (slightly yellow) . photo 1 is flat, i like the pose in #4 but she is over pp on her skin and appears too brite for the rest of the background IMHO

You need to try to adjust your fill flash the same as used in #1, 4, 5 and 6. Those look great and I am not even sure if fill was used on all of them. #2 and 3 just have too much of that harsh flash look for me. Again personal opinion of the look I like.

Nice shots - I think #2 looks un-natural, whether it's the lighting or the skin tones - looks overprocessed. #6 is my favourite!

Jeffries1,

I am a work in progress about my fill flash. Sometimes I get it "right" sometimes I don't.

I wasn't crazy about # 2, but she really liked it.

#4 wins for me. +1 to the overly smooth skin and awkward posing on the others.

The images are in the ProPhoto RGB space. I think that's why some posters have issues with the color. Viewed correctly, the color looks great. They should be converted to sRGB for Web viewing.

Re: hand posing: It's not a good idea to have a female model with her hand in a fist. Have the hand relaxef and fingers slightly spread apart.

I was wondering why they look so much different on my Mac Book Pro versus my PC desktop.

I need to change that on my Mac Book Pro, don't I?
