I tried one and was not so happy. I found it to be not so sharp, especially in the corners. Stopped down to f/5.6 or f/8 makes it a fairly nice performer.
In my opinion, the 20 f/2.8 or 35 f/2 are superior in most every way.
Now, I've seen excellent photographers make the 24 f/2.8 shine on FX cameras, but it wasn't for me. A friend on a different forum really makes good use of this lens.
