sorry about the late response! i had a friend sit in for focus and then i put myself back into position with him triggering the shutter. It worked out pretty well and got lucky with such sharp focus on the eye.
as far as a set up shot, I wish that I would have taken one! It was me kneeling on 2 couch cushions with my hands on a kitchen chair with my face dipping in a bowl of water
