Well the guy likes the 'f word'...that's for sure. The last post may be insignificant due to the latest firmware fix Canon has issued--we'll see. As for 7D AF issues I haven't heard of any yet. It appears there is quite a bit of animosity towards Canon Japan, whether or not its entirely warranted I don't know. Based on the info presented from this guy it's hard to understand the steps Canon took to limit output from the 1DIV--Doesn't make sense but then again niether he or I has all of the info Canon Japan has to make any level headed judgements as to 'why' they did this. To me it sounds like Canon is taking heavy precautionary measures to make sure the Camera is functioning 100% properly BEFORE people can find any issues...gluing the CF door shut would certainly enable them to do that (on second thought why couldn't he use a USB cable to check?). Canon has got A LOT riding on the 1DIV, if they mess this one up they are going to be in some trouble. All in all I think this guy may want to start filling out a Nikon USA application.
I'm never too sure how seriously you can take anything from that site - but the CF doors weren't glued shut on the 1DIV's at the recent PhotoPlus expo ...

This is true, then again there was no way to do any type of controlled/intensive testing with any of the bodies there. What was surprising was the fact that they allowed you to use your own card at the show, when last year it was prohibited with the 5DII.

True, but as you say there wasn't the opportunity to do much in the way of testing & I guess they were aware of that.
Right, but look at the 1DIV "test" thread--sometimes that's all it takes to get a bad word out even if the testing method is proven flawed or insufficient--The telephone game begins.
