Heh couldn't resist after seeing Mark's thread. Had an almost similar experience - it was still on the same bush, same branch after a week. After reviewing my earlier shots, realised they were no good and the next week, decided to just check out the same spot and voila.
That one got spooked pretty soon and flew away high up, but whaddya know, there was another 2 branches down. Hard to detect since it was motionless, can't say why my eyes were drawn to its shape.
Don't have the ability to get as close as Mark did though; his are excellent shots with great detail.
Some here are NL shots, but I never noticed I had forgotten to switch off Auto-ISO until I got back home grrr ISO900 shots
