I just didn't know what to title it. Just wanted a few impressions. Don't really care for the technical details, I know I should have brought the light up/down a couple inches to reduce flair. Tell me what you think.

I see....Sasquatch!

Perhaps crossing the road in front of an oncoming vehicle...one reason there are not too many of them out there.

OOps.....I thought that was a hairy arm on the left.

I now see (barely) that it is TWO people.

I really thought it was ONE figure...moving from left to right, with head bowed, and one really long hairy arm!

I hope that helps.

ALL this said in fun but with a kind heart.

it was more like an emotional spark I was talking about. The image is very clear to me, I can't see the hairy arm or the singer I tried to, but is not working. This image actually reminded me of this old photo of my parents which I can't find It was just a kiss full of tenderness which I also recognize in this image

Sorry, but I figure that any image that requires a long drawn out explanation of what it is, isn't worth the explanation.

Next.

A bit more light on the couple would make it better for me.

@Steady
Thanks Steady! I get it definitely. I just like posting random shots occasionally to get a feel of what others feel. I definitely enjoy the light (pardon the pun) humour.

@spkracer
Thank you for posting, always good to see what's on the table

@MadelineLC
Thanks for your opinion I wonder if a centered composition works better...

@ Pandacat
If you don't have anything constructive (negative or positive) to say, don't say anything at all (especially if you cannot produce an image yourself).

The bright light is a little bit too dominant. Rim light accentuating the bodies might give more attention to the couple.
Composition could be more carefully thought overall. Now there is a lot of extra space which in my opinion does not add to the image.

I like what (I think) you were trying to achieve here!

took alittle while to figure it out but i see it now, agree with capguy the light is too dominate and overpowers the shot, i like the concept but the execution is not there. also is this outside and are you trying to capture the stars? you might want to do a composite shot, one set up for the background and shoot, and then set up for the couple and shoot.

He's absolutely right. I consider it a valid and constructive comment.

The photo does nothing for me either.

How is saying this does nothing for you constructive? I can totally agree with you, if this image does nothing for you, than it does nothing for you. However, that statement alone is neither a valid critique, or remotely constructive. If you say "this image sucks because of x,y,z" we now have a critique (which I'm fine with). If you decide to go on to say "you could
have done a,b,c to improve this image" then it's positively constructive to the shooter.

One caveat is that I did request impressions. So the second part would be unnecessary. I already know what was wrong with the shot (light too low/no front fill, centre framing is nicer now that I've cropped in lightroom)

This forum has so much potential as a community for photographers. We just need about 10 more Steadys.

genoph,

When there are specific deficiencies in an image I will point it out. In my opinion this image has no redeeming value, there's really nowhere for me to start.

It may be a concept worth pursuing further but your execution will have to ramp up about 10000% for it to work out.

Wow, that is quite a tricky image.
It looks to me like Teen Wolf doing his best Michael Jackson's "Billy Jean"
I can now see the two people in it though. They probably won't buy prints of that image.

I have to agree. But if you require specifics:

- Too dark.
- Can't figure out what the image actually is without studying it (that's Pandacat's critique and it's valid). If you don't know what the image is, why even bother?
- Light between the couple is too bright
- Clone out the two bright specs to the immediate top of the couple
- Unattractive flare and ghosting
- Too much black null space
- There's too much light on the hair, highlight strands

The shot you're trying to produce works best with sunlight as the sun also lights up the background so that you have a full silhouette of the couple

Wow,...I finally figured it out.
For the life of me I couldn't see it at all. Then i saw the guy's head,.. but the "hairy arm" thing was totally fooling me. I couldn't figure out what you guys were talking about "two people"? huhhh.

Then I got it.
