My wife actually has all of the FF piano suites from Uematsu on her HD.
Awesome! I paid through the nose for me - ask her if she has FFVI - Grand Finale. That is my absolute FAV. Also, if she has Chrono Trigger - Brink of Time? AMAZIIINGGG
Too right: Chrono Cross was teh fail. Sigh. SoM and CT are awesome: I still have a functioning SNES. But I gotta say, all time fave is still FF6/4 (JP/US).
For me it would be:
Samuel Barber - Adagio for Strings
Edward Elgar - Nimrod
Henryk Gorecki - Symphony of Sorrowful Songs (#3)
Debussy - L'après-midi d'un faune ( )

Love me some Celes: she will eff people up!
Celes rules, what a true hero. And how can you not grin wickedly when you here Kefka's tune?? My fav villain of all time!
Grits. Seriously. Where in the world do you find all this stuff? I have never seen one YouTube video that wasn't linked to from this forum. Too funny!
Um, I was on the edge about music until yesterday. I keep my speakers on mute most of the time, and turned them on to watch an instructional video. The video was completely overpowered by music and it took me closingabout 6 different tabs until I found the culprit. SO irritating. So I think I will go with no music for now - or music that clients can turn on.
These guys aren't true nerds. They're music nerds, which is a subspecie of nerd closely related to the record-store and guitar-collector nerd type.
True nerds do scientific stuff as a hobby. Like running multivariate analyses or photometric surveys. for fun. at home. (bonus points if you didn't have to wiki that!)
Hehe: if you have a nerd, they do have a handbook. (not a Rickroll)
To bring this back on topic, music on websites usually sends me scrambling for the mute button: doesn't much matter what it is.
I have experienced sites using ambient noise effectively, however. Like, websites that have sounds like a city at night (rushing cars, distant sirens, etc.) or ambient outdoor noise (breeze, birds, etc.). So long as it's subtle and not distracting. Shit like Jack Johnson distracts me and "bubble toes" skeeve me out.
Then again, I'm not a bride, I'm a battle axe. A nerdy one.
