I'd like to get a sense of others experiences using Helicon Focus (http://www.heliconsoft.com/heliconfocus.html) for image stacking vs. Photoshop image stacking. Ease? Convenience? End Results? Final Impressions? Anything would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance!
Dave
Only tried Helicon a few times quite a while ago and didn't really see much advantage over the freeware combine series. Since then I've been converted to the fairly new zerene stacker prog which certainly has advantages over the combine series. The author of the prog used to be a helicon user and designed the prog to be better .
Not tried focus stacking with CS4 but have seen a few examples which looked good but it does not seem to be used extensively by experienced stackers.
None of the stacking programmes are perfect - they all have their pros/cons often very subject dependent. I tend now to use zerene stacker but still do a lot of stacking by hand in photoshop just using the repair brush.
