In the area after meetings today so I made a quick pass through to see how the place looked after major dike construction. Appreciate the great updates from Mark Mauldin, Bonnie and Tim this past week. I found it very easy to navigate around dikes and made my way out to the flats easily. I think I even like the way it is now better than before. No SEO's yet as previously reported by Mark but I did see many Harriers and 4 different Kestrals
Here is just a couple as I didn't have much time.

These guys kept their distance from me and while photographing a Great Blue this one of course decides to fly right over my head! Sorry for the clip but I had the 500 bolted on.
I also saw but didn't photograph Bald Eagles, Redtail Hawks, Peregrine Falcon and a few thousand Snow Geese. I think it's going to be an exciting season at the Fir this year
Wow, let's hope the kestrels stick around Great shot of the little guy! Those Ospreys are clever, they wait until you are shooting something mundane and THEN fly right over head! Great shot even clipped. I kind of like the east west dike being gone, easier to see the whole place from almost any spot
Nice job Tom!
Glad to hear the news. Looks like our little friend is back too. I can't wait to get back up there. Sweet GBHIF, talk about 3d quality! Love the soft tones & nice BG there.
Nice detail on the Kestral.
Woohoo, keep up the good thoughts for the winter and heres hoping the Kestrals stay around, thanks for the update Tom!
I really like the Kestral!! The GBH in Flight is Sweet my friend

What a place this seems to be Tom. I guess I will count on you guys keeping me enlightened again with your fine imagery of that area. Harriers are one of my very favorites, keep them coming buddy! The GBH seems out of place there as I am expecting SEO's and hawks from you here but the shot is really sweet! Lots of detail on the Kestrel, I am sure you will find one on a perfect perch next time out
Don't you just hate it when a Harrier gets close to you for once and you've got the 500 bolted on? It's still a super shot and look, Tom. The Kestrel's really pretty, and neat enviro on the GBHIF pic. Sounds like you're going to have a productive time at Fir...Good for you and us!
