p.1 #1 · Betsey Johnson Runway Show - Crazy Colors!
Here are some photos from the Betsey Johnson Spring 2010 fashion show at The Plaza Hotel in New York City. The models were up on a stage about three feet high. So, all but the first three images were pre-focused and held in the air with my monopod. Since the models would get bored with the timer, I pressed the shutter, counted a few seconds and stuck it up in the air. Kinda funky, but it worked out really nice and the models liked being able to look at the LCD to review their pics. All images with a Canon 5D Mark II, 16-35mm, and a 580EX II flash w/ bounce card. I used the in-camera timer, but next time I will have my ebay wireless shutter remotes ready. I also took a ton of video with the 5D2. Amazing camera. Now, I just need to learn how to edit videos. Enjoy!

My tastes are wildly different from what this designer creates, so I find it difficult if not impossible to appreciate the content. Worse, two or three of those models look so profoundly skeletal that they positively scream anorexia to me. If that's so, I feel truly sorry for them. Hopefully I'm mistaken.
But... the content is one thing. The images are another, and they're pretty damn good. Lighting feels a bit harsh, really should be softened up a little. But then, it's possible that you wanted to create precisely this hard-light dramatic effect to fit the type of clothing being shown. I can appreciate that. Also, the intro comments were amusing and interesting.

Yah, it wasn't the brightest of places. Without flash I was at ISO 3200, f/2.8, 1/40 and I shot 1/125, f/ 3.2, ISO 1000 with flash Love the 5D Mark II. I'm so glad I held off and never switched to Nikon.
