Hey, really glad you asked. I didnt realize that there may be a number of people not knowing what a Sticky is. Then, why vote?

It's a thread that stays "stuck" to the top of the queue of posts. So it would be seen at the top of the forum page. This enables quick find, visibility. Many stickies, for example, on the Canon SLR forum for the 7D, new lenses, etc.
