You know, Steady... I've been wanting to write some how-to pages as well, especially for things like airshow shooting. And it occurs to me that one of the ways we all could publicize that kind of resource is to put a link to it in our signatures. At the bottom of every post you make, after the "Steady" line, you could put a Newbie tips for Forums" link.

Thanks for contributing to the "positive" thinking here in this forum and in this thread.
In just the last 24 hours, I have seen about 8 different threads posted by Newbies that could really benefit from the Newbie Tips I am putting together. So...bear with me...the Tips are getting more extensive and edited to help more Newbies and New Comers to FM.
I don't have the time for that, or the desire to promote one.
But...thanks for the bump.
In the last few days I have gotten several nice PMs from people (newbies and lurkers) who have told me how they will soon be posting pics here. That is a good thing for everyone on the forum.
The "Tips on How to Better Enjoy the FM People Forum" page will be posted asap. I am still adding stuff to it to try to cover several points I see needed by recent posts.
I love reading here - getting inspiration for photos, and reading the great feedback posted by many members. I especially love the feedback you provide to the photos. It's very helpful I'm sure to the OP, as well as those who love the hobby like I do.
+1 to Stickies. Every other forums I participate in uses them - this should be no exception.
Thanks for the threat Sticky - as a relative newbie here myself I appreciate it. I've found the site to be inspiring and have gotten some good feedback on my few posts so far. I'm hoping to get a new camera in the next month and then I'm sure I'll have lots of posts! LoL
