I'm hoping it stays APS-H
Or if it's FF, give us a APS-H crop mode. At least then it'll satisfy both crowds
For some reason though, I have a sneaking suspicion that if it is announced on Tuesday, there's something there that will blow our socks off. This project is way too secretive to hide a camera with the spec you mentioned. It's a great spec, but nothing earth shaking.

I think/hope that the 1Ds Mk III won't sink much lower since it has been savaged by the 7D and 5DMk II already to about 1/2 of it's introductory price. But then I own one.
I am not expecting to be getting much for my 1Ds3 when the 1Ds4 comes...

The Netherlands are simply the headquarters of their EMEA operations.
Not anymore.
From now on all announcements from Canon Europe will be done from London.
Simply because their HQ was moved from Amstelveen in the Netherlands to London UK.
...and as I've said many times, Canon has organised an event in Islington, London on the 27th and 28th. Over the last couple of months my dealer has twice hinted to me that a 1D4 will be viewable at that event. He is in constant touch with people at Canon UK. Of course, he can be wrong, but I will be slightly surprised if there isn't a 1D4 announcement on or before the 27th.

We know that D3S is a failure for Nikon, but it would be a miserable failure if 1D4 is a 1.3x crop body. ^_^
You must have some inside information or a link directly with Nikon to post the fact that the D3s is a failure for Nikon..... especailly when the camer's been announced less than a week ago and actual sales have not commenced yet.

Or a 1DV announcement on the 20th.............
I have read that elsewhere, Canon might skip the IV digit (might then feature a double Digic V I wold guess). What else can we expect beside the usual more fps, more MPs and HD movie mode, probably a unusable very hi iso to go against the D3s. Still no likely rumor going around? No picture? No manual? No specs? Canon is really good the best a keeping everything secret, while Sony feeds Photorumors and Nikons Specs are known at least a month ahead (sometimes wrong though, with the D3s rumors having been suggested a 14fps).
Better for them to think your an idiot than to open your mouth and prove them right. phuang3 wrote:

My predictions..
1.1Dmk4 1.3 crop dual digic4s,12.8mp,720p video,new 45pt A/F ISO 50-6400 no expansion,9-11fps
2.1DSmk4 FF 3x digic4s,24mp,1080p video,new 45pt A/F ISO 50-12800 no expansion,7.5fps
No disrespect intended, but there is no way they only go iso 6400 on the 1D4. Also, no way the 1Ds has a higher iso. It just wouldn't make sense. I'm pretty sure they will go with more MP as well, although I hope not.
I won't begin to predict what the 1D4 will have, but I would be willing to bet alot of money that the ISO will be quite a bit higher than the 1D3.

Why not!? We should have a prediction-off. Can't hurt, right?
1DIV:
18mp APS-H w/ 1.6x crop mode
ISO100-12800 (L-50, H-25600, H2-51200, H3-102400)
Dual Digic IV (possibly V)
~12fps
New 45pt AF (i.e. 7D)
Updated metering system (i.e. 7D)
In camera flash commander
1080i
3" 920K LCD
I'd also love to see an AF system that can handle the ability to use multiple focus points when using a TC on a lens at or narrower than f/8...a rather large wish I suppose

Sounds quite possible. Yet I believe that Canon will try to outspec everything the D3s has, so problably more than 51pt AF. The in camera flash commander is unlikely IMHO. Dual DigicIV is able to provide 144mb/sec, so a 12fps camera would not be able to handle more than a 12MP sensor. I am not sure what a dual Digic V could do on the other hand.

You're quite right about 12fps, hence the '~' and 'possibly digic V'--we'll see that they can do with that I also can't imagine the body weighing in at under 16mp. 51pt AF isn't out of question either but for what ever reason I still feel they'll stick to 45pt--obviously that's just a gut feeling. As for the flash commander, why don't you think it will be implemented? Seems like a no-brainer, IMO.
