I shot this in within a 500,000 forest fire that burned in S. Oregon and into N. Calif in the summer/fall of 2002. Photo was taken near a ridge top as the fog rolled in.

From your post looks like your image was taken in 2002?

Please check again. I took this shot 3 days ago, and according to the exif data on the original, and the exif data with the edited version posted here, it is dated 2004/03/22 14:07:56, (That reads March 22, 2004 at 2:07 pm), and at 103k, it falls well below the 170k size. I am very familiar with the rules. What are you looking at the exif data with
mgguzman... First a little history: The fire being referred to burned nearly a half million acres in 2002. It was at my "backdoor" as well. The company I work for had every piece of equipment it owned on the fire line building fire breaks. The entire area was closed to the public, including air space up to around 11,000 feet, well into Spring of 2003 after the winter rains had dowsed the final hot spots.
Per your comment: I think perhaps It would have been better (more diplomatic, if you will) to first ask for clarification of any details regarding the photo that are not immediately clear, prior to reciting the rules. Considering that this photographer has been posting here for nearly a year with 782 posts to his credit, I think one could safely assume he is familiar with the rules.
Gary's shot is perfectly within the rules for the MA.
For future reference, please ask questions like this (whether an image is acceptable for a contest) directly to the poster via PM. If it can't be resolved, I'm happy to assist.
Thank you Jouko and Marjorie. It was one of those photos that just happen. Not planned. It turned out well enough that I decided not to shoot my original idea.
