I've been sitting around here twiddling my thumbs. The sky is gray today so I thought I would try something I had been thinking about for a while. I have used my 300 2.8 with the 1.4 tc quite a bit, but haven't used it with the 2x tc too much. I did some tests a couple of years ago with that lens setup on my MKIIn, but now I wanted to what could be done with the MKIII. I gave it a pretty good workout today under dark conditions which allowed some iso6400 testing doing BIF. I tried many different combinations of shutter speeds and iso's. In the end the 2x setup did not dissapoint when using the MKIII. Here are the results w/exif.
