I'm so pissed that photography-on-the net just deleted a post I put up two days ago. That's so freaking frustrating. Why would POTN remove basically the same thing up put up here and not FM, or dpreview. Linking request is all over DWF.

I am already on google's 1st page for
- "fotografia de casamento teresopolis" = "wedding photography + city 2"
- "fotografia de casamento guapimirim" = "wedding photography + city 2"
- "fotografia de aniversario guapimirim" = "birthday party photography + city 3"
- "fotografia de aniversario teresopolis" = "birthday party photography + city 3"
The only city i don't even show up is Rio de Janeiro, which is one of the biggest in my country, and of course, has much more competition.
I used 3 cities I live nearby as key words / tag, 1) Rio de Janeiro, 2)Teresopolis and 3) Guapimirim.

I'm glad that you're on page one.
If you're on page one, perhaps the next time we do an exchange, you can change the keyword/anchor text for something else that you want. So this new keyword will be for the new links that will go out after Nov 20 - the group that has your current url link will of course keep the keyword you already have to keep you on page one. Or you can keep it the same so that you have supremacy for those keywords.

POTN sucks. I finally got a reply from one of their moderators:

The one above it good too but this link will give you your position for yahoo, msn (aka BING), and ask.com (it will not give you your position for google unfortunately - use the one given above).
It's not 100% exact - it can be off 5 or so places. The one given by Gravy say that I'm 12th but when I check google.com I'm 7th(page one) for the keyword I'm after.
Make sure you are not log into your gmail account since it knows its you who is checking.
Remember that just because your in page one now, that doesn't mean you will be on page one next month (depend how popular the keyword you are using). It changes, so work on your url website content and use anchor text (for the keyword you are using) on each blog you use.

Not bad for a suburb of Chicago. My other site is a page one #2. Which links right to my blog ;-)

I added the links to my link page the same day I got your email. I was asked to provide you with a link to my links page, presumably so that it would be possible to verify that I had indeed added the links to my page.
Anyway... I just did a spot check on the sites that I believe should be linking to me and I could only find a link on ONE of the sites I checked. In many cases I think I found the links page (meaning I found a page with links to other photographers, and at least some of them looked like photographers in my group). In some cases I couldn't find the link page at all.
Would you be able to povide us with a document that has the link page for every page that is supposedly linking to us?
This would be a good way to be able to verify that the links are there and remain there.

Right now, I'm pretty much soo behind with the weddings I did two months ago that I have to get cracking. On top of that, I am changing my two website to a wordpress. I can't seem to find a look I want. It doesn't help that I don't know what I'm doing.
One more wedding this weekend and I'm done for the year.

I've seen some improvements.
I use to be in page 16 on google. Now, I'm page 10. Not as good as your outcome Gravy. I just have to add more content / links. The keyword I am after is San Francisco Photographer.
Another keyword I was after, I am now listed 7th on page one from page 3 or 36th.
I am also involve in the DWF linking (two additional places) in addition to here, so I have more links.
For those who wants to get ahead, try to find other linking strategy. Luckily, there are many photogs here and DWF that are willing to do it. Unfortunately, there are many photogs too that don't know about SEO or don't want to get involve thinking that their ranking will get worse. The way I see it, if your past page 3 (maybe even page 2), there is no hurt in trying.
Getting to page one takes planning. During your slow season, write many good content on your blog and get links. It takes months to get to page one for a hot keyword. You also have to keep it up. It's work to get to page one and to maintain being on page one.
If you try to get links (reciprocal), make sure it is a link that benefits your client / reader. If not, (from what I read) it may not even count.
