I'd wait until the final production lens has hit the shelves before making a judgement on IQ.

I am sure the lens will be great, it is not going to beat the Zeiss 21/2.8 or 14-24/2.8, I'm sure. I'd love to be proven wrong and MCLMM I am being rational.
For me, if I needed 14mm I wouldn't choose the Nikon. I already had it and it is a stupid lens. I'd rather mount a washing machine to my camera, because that would be nearly as portable. I'd probably look strongly at this lens. I am sure it is going to be as good for making real pictures as anything else out there. Corner crops don't matter.

Yeah, again I am agreeing with you. If you need 14mm for ACTUAL pictures, not tests of walls and stupid shit like that I bet this lens will be awesome and MAYBE it will even be good at taking pictures that don't matter.
