Give me 9 high accuracy cross types at the thirds and center, then cluster assist points around those... Software could easily program the flash to do anything using AF data from a pseudo 9 point AF diamond .

The best solution would be a frame covering AF grid (cross type) interspersed with assist points and let ME select the layout that I WANT. not everyone shoots sports.
