Rumors can be fun and entertaining but if you're looking for hard-core REAL info, just take a look below at canonrumors.com on August 13th last year (which I copied/pasted from their site)...were the rumors really that accurate?

I've had some info that matches these specs, even the OLED screen.
...Based on last years 'rumors', I think I'll take a wait-and-see approach
And after the announcement wait two months for product release and then three or four months more to find out from early adopters if it's as bad as the 1D3 was. So you'll have over 5 months to save up plus you'll be sure to get a decent camera (or at least not get a dud)

to be fair there were some slightly earlier rumors posted there that sounded more reasonable to me based on a variety of things and turned out to have been much, much closer to the actual spec (and a CR2 source on last years scale is more like CR1 on this years scale)
It's hard to try to pick the correct rumor from that site but it is fun to see what may possibly be brewing. Since I had planned on every other upgrade, I am in line for the 60D. Unlike some others, they can keep the video for all I care and as much as I use it with my 5D mkII. The AF is way, way more important then any video on a dSLR IMHO.
At least having a date is something - I'm not as confident on the specs. It's enough to hold off on a lens purchase for a week or 2 and see what happens.
Agree with the video comment. My 20D is still not worth upgrading until I can get a better AF without going to a 1 series. This is my hobby, not my living, so I do need to keep the costs in check.

I have owned a bunch of Canon bodies over the years....Gotta say... AF performance is improved on the 40D/50D over the 20D....My 5D would focus in much lower light than my 20D's ever would. 5D2 even better... Of course, 1D3 is my goto camera when using servo... But I just wanted to pipe in and say that there are definitely some improvements in AF over the 20D in many of the latter bodies...
There is indeed an announcement coming. I don't remember the exact date but that date sounds reasonable. I do not expect anything mind blowing, but I van confirm that something new is coming.
apdieb I agree with you that there have been improvements over the 20D. It's just that in my case I couldn't justify the cost for what the AF improvements would mean to me. I'm hoping for the moon in terms of AF performance and would gladly pay for that over video for my needs. One thing I'd love to see are the marketing surveys that Canon uses to determine their new model features so I would know where I fit in with my desires. That way I'd better be able to time my upgrades.
Surely a second hand 40D wouldn't break you financially. From what I understand, the ISO, LCD and IQ are also improved alongside the AF.
Well, it's your prerogative to upgrade or not. I'm just saying sooner or later when your 20D finally breaks you WILL have to get a new body. Video is here to stay though.
