Congratz! That is seriously great news! 25 years! Yeah I say you earned it! Incidentally what were ya chasin in Madera Canyon? They have some bust your ass type trails don't they!
We hiked up to there to look for the Eared Quetzals, and also to photograph some Elegant Trogons. It was grueling but no results, for now. Oh well.

Well, congratulations. Only way for me to get in Nat Geo is to cut and paste. Well deserved.
Thank you, MS Yuan.
I beg to disagree with you. You have as good a chance as anyone. It will take perseverance and a-lot-of-hard-work, and a little luck, but it is POSSIBLE. Good luck.
Happy shooting,
Andy

Andy, the praise is well deserved. Your hard work has paid off, not only vis a vis being published in Nat Geo, but in the simple fact that you recongnize this shot as the culmination of all of your efforts and one of your finest results. Afterall, we tend to be our own worst critics.
Congrats on being published in the big one and thanks for sharing part of that experience with your friends on FM.
The image truly is a special one; perhaps a once in a lifetime event.
Dave
Hi Dave,
For most of my life, since a very young age, I've been immersed in the world of art. I could draw a story board (kids cartoon) by the age of 4. When I was 9, I went from not knowing a note to learning to play "House of the Rising Sun" on the guitar, all by myself, within a week. Drawing, Music, Photography, it's all Art. Few people realize this, but it's the passion for the art (as opposed to it just being a hobby) that has pushed me to do what I do. It's basic humanity that we keep striving to make ourselves better, to make life better, not worse. Thank you for being part of this "average Joe gets lucky" celebration. And thanks for being a friend!

Thunderbird, the photo certainly deserves a place in their magazine,, being a reader for most of my life (69 years) I have always been impressed with the quality and abilities of their photographers,, far more than most of us will ever achieve or even get close too,,
I was just received my monthly copy and was reading tonight after dinner. It took me about two seconds to realize that it was your shot. I loved that capture the second I saw it. Congrats on your accomplishment and I look forward to seeing more from you through the National Geographic in the years to come. Wow!
