There's been so little to shoot lately that I'm going to send my MPE-65mm in for repair this week (I think the cable that runs from the contacts to the aperture assembly is worn out). Here are a couple of shots I took a few weeks ago, both around 3x with the MPE-65mm.
I think this bumblebee was going for sweat on my hand. I wanted a better angle, but there's a limit to just how far this 44 year old frame can bend
Last is a shot of a honeybee feeding on a corn syrup injected flower. I wanted to do some more of this type of work last weekend but the flowers are almost gone...
I came pretty close to deleting that first frame -just wasn't the angle that I wanted and the exposure was a nightmare. But I thought it was cool that the bee was licking my finger so I kept it.
