Thanks, olycame. I was trying to make that point earlier, but not doing as good a job. Based on what I have seen, there is clearly a micro-structure iridescence effect with my dog's hair. It's actually somewhat visible visually in strong sunlight, but nothing like you can see in a 100% magnified image.
