p.1 #1 · Recovery for Mac for 5d2 cr2 & mov files???
My story: I was checking my 5d2's CF card available space by the format window and accidentally hit "ok" and fomatted the CF card 'once'. I am trying to get the pic/mov files back.
Is it still possible to recover the files after I have formatted the CF card once in-camera

Formatting a drive / card / USB stick etc is just a way of 'fooling' the computer into thinking there are no files on it, so it will work as if it is a blank card.
There are many programmes that see through this and recognize the original files -but not many are free, but some can be cheap. I bought a 4Gig card with recovery software for about £8 not that long ago.
Don't use the card at all until you have recovered the files!!
PS: Just a thought - if you have a card reader it might be possible to copy your card as a .DNG image so you have a backup - I believe a .DNG image creates an exact copy.....maybe a Mac expert can comment on this?

Edgar, go to www.sandisk.com and download the application "Image Rescue" run that with your card plugged into your computer via card reader, you should be able to get some if not all your images/movies back.

Well, Deletion or corruption of stored video files is one of the common problem. My friend David also suffered a lot when all his stored video gets deleted accidentally. He tried various manual steps like restore the system file using system restore option, reinstalling the quicktime player and so on, but he fails to rescue .mov files. Luckily! One day, he came to know about MOV video recovery Software, which will retrieve all his deleted video back. It's really a wonderful tool and even works in case of corrupted .mov file conversion case.
