I have seen waxwings around our lake many times, eating seeds or berries, or catching insects. They move quickly behind branches or appear in terrible light. This morning I came on this pair of relaxed souls in very nice early morning light. I am not complaining but they didn’t do anything. They let me get reasonably close and just sat. So no behaviour shots here, just beauty poses.
Excellent beauty shots Rob. These guys look a bit "rounder" and fluffier than usual . My top picks are 1 and then 5 for the pose (even though it is a bit soft around the eye).

It's great when these guys let you get close Rob and you certainly made the most of this opportunity Sweet plummage detail on all and that aint easy to do! Favorite is #3 and the DOF is excellent
Thanks guys for the nice comments.
Tony - I saw them again today, hopefully they are hanging around for a while. You may be right about the fluffed-up look, our nights are cool.
