Probably a Mack warranty or something then?

Always good to see a retailer putting its money where its mouth is. I've had good dealings with Cameta in the past, seems like they're trying to treat you right too. Good people, I think.

Based on their stepping up the plate, I must change my opinion of them to a positive one. It partly depends on the quality of the D300 body I receive, but I'm confident it'll work out well. I've read many good dealings people have had with Cameta, and was disappointed that I couldn't join in the acclaim.

They'll be taking a loss on my sale, since I doubt they'll get much for my old D300.

First clean the lens contact points on the camera and lens. Then make sure you have the latest Firmware update. If it's not that, send it in.

It has been sent in and I'm getting a new demo. Long since had the most recent firmware update.

So, another update. I just received the camera today, and checked the shutter count right away. It's just a bit over 3,100, which seems extremely high for any just-received demo camera. Who knows how much it was used during that time?

I'm more than a bit concerned. Should I be?

No, that is a low shutter count. The shutter is rated at 150k, and will likely last longer.

My camera is around 8000 shots and if I could reset the counter, you couln't tell it from new and works just like it.
You goota remember that many of these demos are used by people in a showroom and they check out the high speed 5 fps. They really don't have that much use.

That is low, and yeah, people love the sound of the rapid fire clicks. Sounds like a good deal.
