Nothing I can add to the accolades. Wildlife action series of the year? There must be a contest somewhere for that. This would absolutely be a contender!
But, Dan, I have a question about how you got those shots, ALL PERFECTLY IN FOCUS! Now, understand that I use Canon, and I know there are differences in the Canon and Nikon focus capabilities, but I'd like to know what focus setting you were using. Does Nikon have a center spot focus? Were you using that (or any single spot focus)? Anyway, I tend to use center spot focus on the Canons, and I really doubt I'd be able to keep it right on through a sequence like that. I'm not even sure mine would keep focus if I used all of the points (what Canon calls automatic point selection).
Hi David,
Thank you for the nice words.
To answer your question. D300 has center focus but I don't use that for IFs. In this case I used Dynamic 21 points AF-Area Mode and AF-C Focus Mode.
PM or email me if you want more details on them.

Wow! What a great sequence! Nicely done!
I was on a workshop a couple of weeks ago with Chris Dodds, shooting Gannets on Ile Bonaventure, just off Percé, Québec, and I too was lucky enough to get a sequence of a mid-air "raid". I just posted it under the title of "Air Raid". I hope you take a look.
Cheers!

Thank you very much Eldor. I did take a look at your post and commented. Great work.

Not sure what to say here... just incredible images. I really like #10 actually with the composition. I'm sure that will look great printed out. It looks like this happened pretty close to you - amazing stuff. I'm man enough to admit I'm a little jealous.
Best,
Chris
Thank you kindly Chris. They were closer than usual and these were shot at 850mm plus crop factor from the D300. I appreciate the pick as well.

Hey Dan--The biggest compliment I could give you is that I was so impressed that I read through all eight pages before replying. Man, first the Loggerhead, now these, you really are on some kind of a roll. Ride it! Maybe you should come hang out with me and you could find the Ivory-Billed Woodpecker for 'em, too.
I was on the road and missed this one; I'm really glad it came back to the top. Good grief, this is a killer set!.....Mitch
Hi Mitch,
I am honored and take that as the biggest compliment from you. I appreciate the nice words.
I'd love to hang out with you and find that Ivory-Billed Woodpecker....or maybe I should start looking around here for one
