Holy Cow is right...What a lucky ( right spot at the right time ) catch, you don't see that, that often I bet. It's obvious what that second bird is after but what the hell is with the third bird Looks like he's gonna grab that other bird on the shoulders. Then theres a fourth bird, gesh...
Whats the diff between the two lighter colored breasts and the one's with the brown spots, age ?
Nice shots.
Thank you very much Bill. No I have been following these kites for a while but never witnessed such behavior.
The ones with the colored, brown spots are the younger/juvenile ones.

Dan, these are astounding! Not one, not two, not three, but four white-tailed kites in action. This cannot be a common happening. Sure hope you submit this series to any/every publication you can think of. Awesome
Thank you kindly Maggie. I have never submitted anything before.

I love looking at these every time! Well I went there to find them Dan, they were way way way too far for my 400mm. They looked like mosquitoes for me! Thanks for the directions anyway. I got a nice tan. Haha!!
Funny Conrad...(mosquitoes )

What a wonderful sequence. I guess being in the right place at the right time with the right skills goes a long way very well done danjacquitaylo.
Cheers,

Thank you much Kartik. I agree w/ the right time/place comment. No matter how good one's skills are, if there is no opportunity, then there are no good results.

I've seen this behavior often with the White-tailed Kites that follow fishing boats. It's always great fun to throw a bait fish up into the air and watch them fight over it and they often steal from each other.
I'm not surprised to see the same behavior in these amazing Sea Gull shots you've posted in this series Phenomenal captures, Sir!
