I have only had mine for a few days, so I am just starting to explore this great piece of glass. These are all wide open, which is a good place to start the exploration I suppose:

Thank you kindly, Michael, but I am sure most of our members could do PIFs with 85L if you would only care to try.
Here is a more conventional scenery. The first is a familiar sight to our European friends and wherever introduced in North America.....the venerable Horse Chestnut.
All shot with wide open 85L + 1DMkIIN, as JPG, handheld, natural light, practically no postprocessing.

Any lens can produce ugly bokeh in the wrong circumstances. It is a matter of FL, f-stop, distance to subject, distance from subject to background, the actual background and so on. Back lit leaves are very hard...
