I love this thread as I just picked up a D2H from a FMer and am absolutely in love with it!
I bought it as a back up to my D3 and am almost enjoying it more.
Thanks for the great examples.
I too have a D2Hs as a backup to my D3. I like the colors from the D2Hs better than the D3. It's nice to work with small files for a change too. Really a great, fast camera.

I am absolutely enjoying my D2HS these days. I am glad I was finally able to upgrade from a D2H as post processing time has gone way down and image quality is generally better.
I use a Heliopan "Digital" filter (Infrared + Ultra Violet) from my D2H on my D2HS so the colors don't go wonkie on me. I also use an ExpoDisc to preset white balance almost always which saves me lots of post processing time.

Kane513, I hear ya! Dynamic range is limited but I have learned to not let it bug me by reminding myself of the cost spread between mine and the D3 (4x more used).

Thanks wingie (and Gaylon H also). Boy I'd say you hit a home run with a D2H as your 1st DSLR camera. CONGRATS!!! My 1st digital was a pitiful point-n-shoot by HP, but eventually I worked up to a D50 as my 1st DSLR which I was very happy with. I still cringe looking at those HP PNS pics and it was glacially slow. Never again!

Photography continues to be all about my family for me. So while there is probably tons wrong with these shots (from a vacation two weekends ago in NYC), they're recent favorites from my D2H (with Nikon 28-70).

BioBanker, you took the words right out of my mouth when you said, "photography continues to be all about my family for me". I love immortalizing (of sorts) our family life through photography. Seeing a child's personality come through in a photograph is very rewarding and I highly value a good candid when I time it just right.

Okay, maybe I should stop posting pics or I will be guilty of hijacking this thread but I keep bumping into old favorites taken with my old and now gone D2H that have that image quality that first motivated me to own the old battle axe D2H as soon as possible.
