On a semi serious note......how many did Canon make? Anyone know?
Canon wont say but from what's in the TDP write up
they made 2 per year, it took nearly a year to grow the fluorite crystals for it and rumours are that about 20 were made.
and I wouldn't mind betting that a couple of countries 'secret services' have a few of them
There is now a video of the "Making of the LensCoat for the Canon 1200mm" it was filmed with Canon 5dmk2's by my friends Juan Pons and Art Howard. You can see the video here Making of the Canon 1200mm LensCoat

The image posted has taken at 34mm focal length using Nikon D3. What is going on here...?
Uhhhh i think he was joking... he cant hand hold it for a shot like that first of all... and second, he lives in New Jersey... the lens doesn't reach disneyworld in Florida (assuming thats what it is)...

You are correct it was a joke, I am in New Jersey and that was a full frame shot i took hand held @ Disney.
Scott, thx for the great video and photos! I wonder if anyone has ever requested you to thicken the neoprene size (to 1/4th inch or so). That's one reason I make mine at home.

I am with Kiran on that.
I also make my own.....very cheap, one size fits all and cotton feels good in hand. With some luck I might get Adidas to sponsor my "LensSock" (registered trademark) line.

Peter, I think you need an Adidas wristband to cover the other end. That should complete this work of art.
