True for me. But it doesnt matter, I am going to keep it.
It produces stunning images when needed.

Rapidly becoming my most used lens here, I take it and my 50mm and I have really no need for anything else.
The 14-24 allows such wild perspectives its just amazing, and it's image quality is stunning.

+1. This and the Canon 85L are my 2 favorite "high performance" lenses .... but I would certainly not take those lenses with me everywhere .... as I would with my 24-70/2.8 walk-around lens, even though this is still a hefty piece of glass. On my landscape, travel, indoor shoots I will definitely have my 14-24. When I am going on a photo trip, I will take both lenses with me .... and my little Zuiko 50/1.2.

It's too big to be a frequently used lens for anyone that takes a sane amount of gear with them all the time. I only brought my 14-24 if I KNEW I was going to need it.

I had one for about 6 months. It was a good range on the D300, but on the D700, just too wide for my tastes. I sold it and have a 17-35, which I rarely use as my 24-70 does most of the WA stuff I need for weddings and events. The image quality is amazing. I wish Nikon would transfer that same quality to a 50-150 f/2 portrait lens with DC.
