I just received an A900 + Zeiss 24-70 two days ago and am planning on giving it a trial run down to Page, AZ this weekend.
So far, it seems to be set up pretty similarly to the A700.
One thing that's not immediately obvious to me:
in local area focus you can select the focal point with the controller but in wide area focus it seems to want to always use the focal point that corresponds to the nearest subject rather than the center of FOV. what am I doing wrong?
I saw today that Adorama has advertisements up for renting an a900, 70-200/2.8, 24-70/2.8, 84/1.4, and grip all for $100 for a day! If that still goes for the over-the-weekend deal I might try it out just for fun some time.
I love my Minolta 85....here is a shot with a kenko extension tube on it...
I have a Ziess ZF version of the 85 and it is incredibly sharp....this shot was taken in a dark club with the only light at the stage....from the back of the room...about 150feet or 45m from the stage...
